ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Designed around the evolving needs of the tourism and travel industry, the BA (Hons) Tourism Management programme at BUV combines international academic standards with industry-focused learning. Students develop management expertise across the economic, cultural and environmental dimensions of tourism, preparing them to drive sustainable development in Vietnam and globally.
YOUR LEARNING PATH
You will explore the origins, development and organisation of the tourism and hospitality industries, and the opportunities and challenges facing organisations operating in and across the various sectors.
This module will help you understand the nature of tourists, the roles they play, their needs and wants, and behaviour, drawing on ideas from the psychology, sociology and anthropology of tourism.
This module develops your knowledge and understanding of marketing as an essential function for tourism and hospitality management, and provides you with an understanding of the concepts, functions and processes of marketing as practiced in the service industries.
This module will introduce you to the key principles of the visitor economy. It looks at the influence of economic factors on consumer demand and the how external environment influences tourism businesses and consumers. It also examines the economic impacts of the visitor economy on destinations and communities.
This module will help you develop a thorough understanding of sustainable tourism in a destination context. You will learn about the meanings of sustainability, the Sustainable Development Goals, and how tourism can contribute to meeting these goals in destinations. You will also look at the range of tourism impacts in destination settings, and how these can be sustainably managed.
You will study the interactions between nature, wildlife and tourists in natural and semi-natural sites/settings and examine a range of global threats to biodiversity as well as the issues relating to the conservation of individual species and their natural environments.

Gain real-world insights through applied learning, interactions with industry guest speakers, and study trips to domestic and international destinations. These experiences help students connect academic knowledge with the realities of the tourism sector.
Build knowledge of tourism management, destination marketing, sustainable tourism, tourism product development, sales, and business development. Graduates can pursue roles such as Destination Marketing Executive, Sustainable Tourism Consultant, Travel Product Designer, Travel Sales Executive, or Business Development Manager.
Examine the dynamic relationship between tourism and economies, cultures, and environments. Through this multidisciplinary perspective, students build the specialist knowledge needed to contribute to long–term sustainable development in Vietnam and internationally.
Develop an understanding of diverse tourism contexts, including destination management and marketing, tour operations, festivals and events, cultural heritage, accommodation, visitor attractions, consultancy, and non-governmental organisations.
