On 29 October, BUV joined the UK–Vietnam Business Forum 2026, organised byBritish Chamber of Commerce Vietnamwith the British Embassy and Consulate General under the theme “Vision 2045: Creating a High-Income, High-Value Economy”.
As a university delivering British higher education in Vietnam, BUV contributed perspectives on how closer collaboration between universities and businesses can prepare graduates for the evolving needs of Vietnam’s economy.
Contributing to the discussions, MrPaul Bennett, Chief Marketing Officer at BUV, highlighted the importance of developing digital capability alongside human skills and global perspectives. Drawing on the Vietnam Employability Report by BUV andDecision Lab, he emphasised that graduates need opportunities to apply their knowledge to real business challenges and demonstrate their capabilities to employers.
“While universities and employers have traditionally come together at the point of recruitment, we believe that collaboration needs to begin much earlier, when students are still developing the capabilities they need for work,” Mr Paul Julian Bennett said.
Putting this approach into practice, BUV signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tuoi Tre Newspaper and another with SIAL Vietnam at the forum:
WithTuoi Tre newspaper, the partnership aims to expand practical learning in journalism and communications through jointly developed modules, engagement with media professionals and learning experiences at the newspaper’s offices.
WithSIAL Vietnam, the partnership sets out a framework for internships and pathways into employment, alongside industry input into academic programmes and opportunities for joint research and knowledge exchange.
These partnerships reflect BUV’s commitment to connecting UK higher education with Vietnam’s workforce needs, helping students gain practical experience throughout their studies and prepare to contribute confidently in the workplace.
