ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Artificial intelligence is changing how businesses in Vietnam and across the region operate, compete and grow, and the people who lead that change are those who understand both the technology and the organisation. This MSc prepares you to do exactly that: to identify where AI can create value, to lead its adoption responsibly, and to translate between technical teams and the decisions that shape a business. You will study the principles behind AI and machine learning, the digital technologies driving Industry 4.0, and the leadership skills needed to guide an organisation through transformation. No advanced coding or technical background is required, so whether you are continuing directly from your undergraduate degree or building on years of professional experience, you can start from where you are. Graduates go on to lead AI adoption, shape digital strategy, and take on governance and decision-support roles in Vietnamese companies, multinational subsidiaries and organisations across Southeast Asia.
YOUR LEARNING PATH
This module introduces core principles of artificial intelligence (AI), spanning classical and modern approaches. Topics include search and optimisation in agent-based systems, key paradigms for reasoning and decision-making, and foundational architectures underpinning AI applications. You’ll also explore the ethical considerations of responsible AI development including fairness, transparency, and societal impact.
Understanding Industry 4.0 is crucial for driving innovation and staying competitive in today's technological landscape. This module examines the transformative impact of digital technologies on modern businesses, exploring key innovations such as the Internet of Things (IoT), extended realities (XR) and the metaverse, big data analytics, cyber-physical systems, digital twins, and blockchain. These technologies enable enhanced automation, seamless connectivity, and data-driven decision-making across industries. Through a combination of theoretical insights and practical applications, this module equips students with the knowledge and skills to implement cutting-edge digital strategies, ensuring they remain at the forefront of technological advancements shaping the future of business.
Recognising the transformative potential of AI in achieving sustainability, this module examines the impact of AI on modern sustainable operations, focusing on process optimisation. Students will explore how AI enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and resilience across industries by identifying inefficiencies, optimising process flows, and enabling real-time decision-making. The module prepares students to leverage AI for sustainability, equipping them with the expertise needed to support sustainability goals through innovative digital operations. This module addresses both environmental challenges, such as reducing carbon emissions, and social issues.
This module introduces the key skills needed to manage data and use AI and machine learning in business. You’ll get hands-on experience using popular programming tools and languages and explore the concept of Explainable AI, which helps make AI models more transparent and trustworthy. You’ll learn how to organise, store and access data, with a focus on data modelling, SQL, and important topics like data governance and GDPR. The module also shows how AI and machine learning can improve decision-making. By combining theory with real-world practice, this module prepares you to create smart, data-driven solutions using AI and machine learning.
Effective decision-making relies on the ability to present and interpret complex data clearly. This module focuses on data visualisation and storytelling, ensuring that students can communicate insights effectively in both tactical and strategic decision-making contexts. Learners will gain hands-on experience with advanced visualisation tools to explore, interpret, and present large datasets in an accessible and meaningful way. By mastering these tools, students will enhance their ability to convey data-driven insights, enabling organisations to make more informed, evidence-based decisions.
Effective leadership is crucial for navigating the complexities of technological advancements. This module explores how to adapt innovative leadership styles to guide organisations through the digital age, leveraging digital technologies to develop new business models, enhance stakeholder engagement, and drive innovation. It focuses on aligning AI with new organisational structures, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptability, and managing AI-driven projects using agile methodologies. The module will equip students with the skills to manage culturally diverse, global stakeholders, and co-located teams, preparing them to lead effectively in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
This independent study module follows on from the completion the Research Project Design module, whereby literature review and methodology for a programme specific research project has already been completed. Within this module, students will collect and analyse their data, report their findings, and make recommendations, thus drawing conclusions from their research whilst addressing their research aim, objectives and questions. This module emphasises critical thinking, analytical skills, and ethical research practices, preparing students for professional careers or further academic pursuits.
The research project offers students a valuable opportunity to apply their research and analytical skills in a chosen area of study that is directly relevant to their degree programme. This independent research project allows students to thoroughly explore a topic of their interest, fostering both academic and professional growth. Key components of the module include research philosophy, critical literature review, methodology, and ethical considerations. It provides a conceptual framework for identifying relevant resources, understanding their significance to specific topics, interpreting the research presented, and communicating findings in a professional and effective manner. Additionally, the module introduces students to essential research methods that will support and guide their primary research.
