BUV sets an intake quota for each programme based on its overall annual student capacity. For example, in 2024, to safeguard training quality, the university applied an intake limit. Applications are reviewed against the entry requirements and processed in the order they are received once the admissions portal opens for that intake.
All majors at BUV require completion of a foundation/pathway programme beforehand. The only exception is for students on certain international curricula who meet the partner university's required scores for exemption; such cases are assessed individually by the Academic Affairs team.
If your child does not yet have the IELTS 6.0 required for direct entry into a BUV bachelor's programme, they can still enrol through the university's academic English courses. The university offers 3 English courses spanning levels from 4.5 up to 6.0; your child will take a placement test and be assigned to the course and learning pathway that best fits their level.
With IELTS 6.0, your child already meets the requirement to join BUV's main academic programme directly. The university's EAP/Unipath classes are only for students who have not yet reached 6.0, so there is currently no higher-level English course available before enrolment. In practice, many BUV students start with IELTS 6.0 and do very well, since the programme includes a transition stage into university-level study (UKPW/IFP) and ongoing tutor support throughout their studies.
To further improve their English proficiency independently ahead of the bachelor's programme, your child can study at home by focusing on: reading academic texts in English, practising essay writing, listening to lectures in English on their chosen subject, and becoming familiar with subject-specific terminology.
Entry requirements vary by programme, but generally include completion of high school and an IELTS score of 6.0 or above (with no band below 5.5), or equivalent.
The university requires completion of high school (Grade 12), but does not set any minimum grade requirement.
