ABOUT THE ROLE
Tau, part of Taylor’s Education Group, is hiring its first dedicated corporate hire to build internal processes, reporting systems, and decision-making analysis from the ground up. In this role, you won't process transactions directly, but will coordinate with Group shared services (Finance, HR, Legal) to ensure reliable, smooth execution. It's an opportunity to establish structure and governance while supporting a fast-growing, agile business across Southeast Asia.
Taylor’s Education Group (TEG) is one of Southeast Asia’s leading private education groups, with a diverse portfolio of higher education institutions, schools and lifelong learning businesses operating across the region.
Tau by Taylor’s and British University Vietnam (BUV) are both members of Taylor’s Education Group, enabling close collaboration across the Group to leverage shared expertise, resources and regional capabilities.
Tau by Taylor’s is the corporate learning and capability-building business of Taylor’s Education Group, created to help individuals and organisations build the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. We partner with organisations to understand their business priorities, workforce challenges and future capability needs. From leadership and professional development to emerging areas such as technology, data and artificial intelligence, we design practical learning experiences that are relevant to the workplace and focused on real-world application.
Our ambition is to go beyond traditional training. We believe meaningful learning should strengthen performance, build confidence and create lasting impact for both individuals and organisations. By combining Taylor’s established educational expertise with an agile, innovative and commercially focused approach, Tau develops learning solutions that respond to the evolving needs of businesses and their people across the region.
This position is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The successful candidate will be employed by British University Vietnam (BUV) under a Vietnamese employment contract. As a member of Taylor’s Education Group, BUV supports selected regional initiatives across the Group by employing locally based professionals who contribute to regional businesses and projects.
In this role, the successful candidate will be assigned to support Tau by Taylor’s regional business while remaining an employee of BUV throughout the assignment. BUV will remain the legal employer and will be responsible for all employment matters, including the employment contract, payroll, statutory benefits, leave administration and compliance with Vietnamese labour regulations.
Operationally, the role will work as part of Tau by Taylor’s regional team and collaborate closely with colleagues, clients and stakeholders across Taylor’s Education Group. Day-to-day work priorities and business objectives will be directed by Tau’s leadership team, while employment-related matters will continue to be managed by BUV.
This arrangement reflects the collaborative operating model within Taylor’s Education Group and provides employees with the opportunity to contribute to regional initiatives while benefiting from local employment and HR support in Vietnam.
Tau is a member of the Taylor’s Education Group, one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most established education groups. We equip Southeast Asian organisations with the leadership and technology skills and talent to succeed. Our learning and talent solutions are tailored, experiential, and designed for real world impact. We are backed by the scale, credibility, and shared infrastructure of a group, and we operate with the pace and experimental instinct of a young business.
Tau is small, growing quickly, and still experimenting. That combination creates a specific need: we have to run a tidy, well-governed business while spending most of our energy on figuring out what works.
Group provides our transactional finance, HR and legal services. This role is the single point of ownership inside Tau for making that relationship work — ensuring the transactional engine runs reliably, and building the processes, systems and reporting that Tau needs on top of it. It is also the role that gives management the numbers and the analysis to make better decisions.
You will not be processing transactions yourself. You will be making sure they happen, on time and correctly, by working effectively with colleagues you don’t manage — and building the structure that makes that repeatable rather than a monthly scramble.
This is the first dedicated corporate role in Tau. Much of what you need does not yet exist. You will create it.
Make the Group relationship work
Act as Tau’s single point of contact with Group Finance, HR and Legal, and own the quality and timeliness of what Tau receives
Define clearly what Tau needs from each function — deliverables, cadence, standards — and agree it in writing rather than renegotiating it every month
Prepare and coordinate the inputs Group requires from Tau so nothing stalls on our side
Escalate early and constructively when something isn’t working, and help find the fix rather than logging the problem
We are looking for capability and trajectory rather than years served. This role is deliberately scoped to grow: as Tau scales, the remit will broaden into strategic finance, corporate services and regional expansion, and we would like the person in this seat to grow with it.
