Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a leading global higher education analytics and rankings organisation, has released its QS Global MBA Rankings 2027, featuring more than 400 MBA programmes across 73 countries and territories worldwide.
For the second consecutive year, British University Vietnam (BUV) is the only institution from Vietnam featured in the rankings, climbing to 41st in Asia while maintaining its position in the 251–300 band globally. BUV's overall score also improved from 36.0 to 37.2 out of 100.
Notably, BUV rose two places in the Asian rankings despite increased competition, with the number of ranked MBA programmes in Asia growing from 70 to 81. This progress reflects the University's strengthening position in the increasingly competitive postgraduate education landscape.
The QS Global MBA Rankings 2027 assess programmes against 13 sub-indicators across five key indicator groups: Employability, Alumni Outcomes, Return on Investment, Thought Leadership and Diversity. The rankings draw on survey responses from 43,870 academics and 37,660 employers worldwide.
Strengthening position through graduate outcomes
Among the individual indicators, BUV recorded particularly strong results in areas closely linked to graduates' career development and practical capabilities.
BUV achieved a perfect score of 100/100 in Entrepreneurship, an indicator that QS measures based on the proportion of graduates who establish and operate their own businesses within three months of completing the programme. This result reflects the distinctive profile of BUV's MBA community, which brings together managers, professionals and entrepreneurs who are directly involved in addressing real-world challenges in business operations and development.

Chart 1. This performance contributed to BUV's Alumni Outcomes score of 46.7/100, exceeding the global average of 45.9 and achieving results comparable to those of several UK Russell Group universities, including the University of Exeter and the University of Liverpool.
BUV also achieved 94/100 in Employment Rate. As part of the Employability indicator, this sub-indicator is based on the proportion of graduates who secure employment or receive a promotion within three months of completing the programme.
This result reflects BUV's practice-oriented approach to education and its comprehensive career development ecosystem. Through a network of more than 500 corporate partners, including multinational corporations and companies listed among Vietnam's 500 largest enterprises, MBA students have opportunities to engage with senior executives and leading industry experts, address real-world management challenges and expand their professional networks throughout their studies.
“The MBA programme at BUV is highly practical, particularly for a foreign business owner like myself who is exploring the Vietnamese market. What I value most is the professional network I have been able to build at BUV. Here, I have had opportunities to learn from and connect with senior executives, business owners and leading industry experts, connections that would otherwise have been difficult to establish in such a short period of time,” shared Yeo Kee Heng (Francis), founder of an IT consulting and project management company in Singapore and an MBA student at BUV.
Quality Assurance Through Faculty Expertise and Academic Excellence
This year's QS rankings also recorded notable improvements in indicators reflecting BUV's teaching environment and academic foundations.
BUV achieved 90.1/100 in International Faculty Ratio, contributing to its overall Diversity score of 66/100, above the global average of 60.1. With 100% of its faculty holding qualifications and professional experience from reputable international universities and organisations, BUV offers MBA students a diverse academic environment, providing exposure to the latest global business perspectives and trends.
The diversity of BUV's MBA community also comes from students across different industries and professional backgrounds, creating opportunities for peer learning and exchange while helping them build the confidence to lead in a global business environment.

Chart 2. BUV exceeded the global average in Diversity, scoring 66/100 compared with 60.1 globally.
The Staff with PhD indicator also recorded a notable improvement, with its score increasing by nearly 15% compared with the 2026 rankings. This contributed to stronger performance in Thought Leadership, reflecting BUV's efforts to strengthen its academic foundations, faculty and research activities.
Expanding Postgraduate Education to Develop Future-Ready Leaders
Professor Rick Bennett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of BUV, commented: “This year's rise in the rankings is an encouraging milestone that reinforces our commitment to equipping students with the capabilities needed to become future leaders. In a rapidly changing world, we will continue to place career development and leadership capability at the heart of the MBA experience, enabling students to translate knowledge into effective organisational leadership and meaningful career progression.”
BUV's performance in the QS Global MBA Rankings 2027 further reflects the University's commitment to academic quality, underpinned by its three-tier quality assurance framework spanning national, regional and international standards.
BUV complies with the quality standards set by Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). It is also the first university in Vietnam to receive the QS 5 Stars rating twice and the first higher education institution in Vietnam and the ASEAN region to achieve institutional accreditation from the UK's Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).

MBA students at BUV participate in an industry field trip, gaining first-hand exposure to business operations and management practices.
Building on this foundation, BUV continues to expand its postgraduate portfolio to meet growing demand for advanced professional expertise and leadership capabilities in an evolving business environment.
During the 2026–2027 academic year, BUV is partnering with Manchester Metropolitan University, whose Business School holds the prestigious Triple Crown accreditation (AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS), an achievement held by approximately 1% of business schools worldwide, to introduce three new dual-degree master's programmes: MSc International Business Management, MSc Business Analytics and MSc AI for Digital Business.
Graduates of these programmes will receive master's degrees from both institutions, strengthening their academic credentials and professional prospects in the international labour market.
With its vision of becoming a leading university in Vietnam and the region, BUV continues to contribute to the Vietnamese Government's ambition of positioning the country as an emerging international education hub in Southeast Asia, while supporting the development of highly skilled talent for Vietnam and the global economy.
