Two of BUV’s outstanding students, Vu Thuy Linh and Tran Ha Linh, have been awarded the prestigious Global Excellence Scholarships to pursue their master’s degrees at the University of Exeter, UK. These scholarships, valued at £7,500 each, are a testament to their academic prowess and their potential to mark meaningful impacts on the global community.
A Journey of Ambition and Aspiration
Tran Ha Linh and Vu Thuy Linh, both Marketing Management students and co-presidents of the Volleyball Club at BUV, share a friendship that blossomed from a connection between their mothers. From high school through their time at BUV, they’ve shared countless memories, participated in extracurricular activities, and built a strong bond, always supporting each other.
Despite their contrasting personalities – Thuy Linh being strong-willed and assertive, while Ha Linh is more meticulous and somewhat clumsy – they share comparable values and visions, which have strengthened their friendship. “Our differing traits balance each other out, and it’s this bond that excites me about our upcoming educational venture together,” shared Ha Linh.
Beyond friendship, Ha Linh and Thuy Linh have been lifelong companions, encouraging each other to push past their limits and reach new heights. Now, they are embarking on a new chapter together at the University of Exeter, UK, where both have been awarded the prestigious Global Excellence Scholarship for their Master’s studies. The Postgraduate Taught Global Excellence Scholarships at Exeter are designed to support students who wish to develop their academic potential and contribute to a vibrant community of students and staff from over 150 countries. Each year, there are only 65 excellent applicants who are chosen to become winners of the prestigious Global Excellence Scholarship. These scholarships recognise high academic achievement and provide recipients access to exceptional teaching and learning experiences. For Thuy Linh and Ha Linh, receiving this scholarship is not only a significant achievement but also a major source of motivation and confidence, fueling their determination to reach further notable academic milestones. This prestigious award serves as a testament to their hard work and commitment, empowering them to continue excelling and making meaningful contributions to their fields of study.
Adding to the celebration, the two scholarship winners were honoured to participate in the reception for the University of Exeter’s visit Prof. Richard Follett, Vice President and Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Exeter, during his visit to BUV. During his visit this summer, hosted by BUV’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Ray Gordon, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Rick Bennett, and other distinguished staff, highlighted the strong academic ties between the two universities.
