The order of modules is subject to change depending on circumstance.

  • Innovation & Entrepreneurship

    Entrepreneurship and innovation are activities of utmost importance for firms and economies. This module will explore the role of entrepreneurship and innovation and how they occur within firms and economies. Additionally, the module will critically and practically appraise the developments in entrepreneurship and innovation studies and explore entrepreneurship and innovation in practice.

  • Financial Analysis in a Global Context  

    This module commences with an introduction to the subject including concepts and a discussion of relevant applications. This leads onto an overview of a contemporary financial reporting and analysis framework in a global context (including the international accounting standard) and aspects of the international regulatory system. Students will also study income and asset value measurement systems and underlying systems of preparing consolidated financial statements (comprehensive income, Statement of financial position, changes in equity and cash flows). Contemporary issues such as sustainability and the need for environment and social reporting will enhance the students’ ability to relate their learning to the global context.

  • Cross Cultural Management & Leadership

    This module focuses on how HRM and management strategies can be used effectively to improve organizational performance. The module examines approaches to cross-cultural management and leadership and critically evaluates the strategies used.

  • Risk Management for Sustainable Business

    An innovative module that covers the core principles of risk and uncertainty in a business context. These concepts are applied to the main ways to manage risk such as insurance and hedging within financial markets. The aim of the module is to provide clear strategies for decision-makers to deal with risk and uncertainty despite a rapidly changing and unpredictable external environment.

  • Strategy for Value Creation

    This module is focused on Strategic Management and involves understanding how organisations strategise both in a local and international context followed by the implementation and practice of strategy towards value creation and sustained competitive advantage.

  • Fintech & Data Analytics 

    This module provides learners with a core foundational understanding of financial technology applications. The theory behind how these systems work will be applied to real examples, allowing learners acting as entrepreneurs to create their own specialized applications. Learners will examine the nature of FinTech in the current industry context, exploring contemporary market developments and evaluating the challenges and opportunities presented.

  • Final Project

    The purpose of this module is to equip participants with critical knowledge, theory and tools in support of leading and contributing to successful undertaking of an individual final Project. Apply all you have learned throughout the MBA alongside literature review and research to propose your solution to real-world problems, including those of your current organisations.

Assoc. Professor Jason MacVaugh

Dean (Higher Education)

Born in the United States but raised and educated in the Cayman Islands and the United Kingdom, Jason completed a BSc in Business Management from N.C. State University. Following graduation in 2000 he was employed in both in the UK and the USA banking sectors. In 2002, he completed an MSc in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from Brunel, and subsequently in 2003, won a studentship for a PhD in Knowledge Management. In 2007, Jason took a position at the University of Gloucestershire where he completed his PhD thesis in 2009. Jason’s career includes teaching and research activities across international locations including: Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, the USA, Italy and Tunisia.

Dr. Simon Kimber

Senior Lecturer and Head, Centre for Postgraduate Studies

Dr. Kimber is an experienced academic with over 15 years of teaching experience in tourism, hospitality and events management, and has taught both in the UK and in Asia. He has a PhD in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the University of Surrey along with a PGCE in Education from the University of Lancaster. He has just joined BUV from Swansea University in the UK, where he was Programme Director of International Tourism Management at Swansea University, and prior to that he was Director of Tourism Management at the University of Surrey’s overseas campus in China, Surrey International Institute (SII-DUFE).

Dr. Kimber’s research interests revolve around the rise of Asian backpacker tourism, smart tourism and the leisure uses of autonomous vehicles. Simon has published his research in academic journals and book chapter and presented at conferences. He has a number of research collaborations with academics from the UK and China.

Dr. Shashi Chaudhary

Programme Lead – Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Shashi has 7 years’ experience of teaching courses of Finance and Economics to Graduate and Undergraduate students in the top management institutes of Nepal.

He also has 5 years’ experience working closely with policy makers in the capacity of Deputy Director of the Central Bank of Nepal. He is very active in research activities and has credits for 9 research articles published in reputed journals.

Dr. Mark Wheaton

Senior Lecturer

Raised and educated in Australia, Mark completed a bachelor’s degree in economics as a mature student at Adelaide University. Following graduation in 1983, Mark commenced employment as an Accountant for a subsidiary of BHP, in Sydney. Many positions followed working in government and banking until the year 2000 when he establishes a successful accounting business. With 4 partners Mark sold his interest and moved to France, in semi-retirement to complete his master’s degree in international relations. However, following a call from RMIT Vietnam Mark started as lecturer in accounting but soon after became Head of Department for Accounting, Economics, Finance and Marketing and where he completed his doctorate in business in 2016. Mark returned to Australia to take up the Academic Director of Accounting position for Kaplan Business School. Australia. Mark is an avid mountain walker and martial artist in Taekwondo.

Dr. Jyotsna Bijalwan

Dr. Jyotsna Ghildiyal Bijalwan is an academic, an author and researcher with a diverse international work experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. She holds Graduation and Master degrees in Commerce from University of Mumbai, India. She is also a Master of Business Administration (Finance) and MPhil. She got her doctoral degree in Management from Uttarakhand Technical University, India.

Prof. Mark Spence
Visiting lecturer

Mark Spence completed his PhD degree in Marketing at the University of Arizona, USA, in 1993. Prior to entering the doctoral program, he was Program Manager at Gnostic Concepts, Inc., a market research firm in the Silicon Valley, California, specializing in high technology products.  In 2002 Dr. Spence joined Bond University, Australia.  He held various roles at Bond University including Head of Department, Head of the Doctoral Program, and Associate Dean of Research. He now holds the position of Honorary Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Bond University as well as Visiting Lecturer at BUV.

Dr. Spence has published in top academic journals including the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Retailing, International Journal of Research in Marketing, European Journal of Marketing, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Psychology & Marketing.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised Higher Education Institution
  • Work Experience Requirements:
    • British degree holders with any classification and First Class equivalent Vietnam degree holders: 1 year of full-time work experience. No interview required.
    • Upper Second Class (2:1) equivalent Vietnam degree holders: 2 years of full-time work experience. No interview required.
    • Lower Second Class (2:2) equivalent Vietnam degree holders: 3 years of full-time work experience.
    • Lack any of the above conditions: Admission interview required.

English Requirement:

  • IELTS 6.5 (No band below 6.0) or equivalent. No interview required
