British University Vietnam (BUV) is the first and only international university in Vietnam to directly award British degrees from the prestigious University of London and Staffordshire University.  POSITION PURPOSE

The Associate Manager of Communications will play a strategic role in overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of comprehensive communications initiatives of strategic units in particular and university-wide in general. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality communications activities while developing team capabilities and maintaining alignment with BUV’s strategic objectives and brand standards.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

– Support direct manager in establishing clear team goals, KPIs, and performance standards aligned with departmental objectives

– Support direct manager in  ensuring balanced workload distribution and resource optimization within the team

– Act as one of the key liaisons between the communications team and other departments

– Lead and execute comprehensive communication activities across all channels including external communications, media relations, crisis communications, internal communications, and digital platforms; oversee the quality and consistency of all communications deliverables produced by the team

– Drive strategic content development and ensure excellence in messaging consistency for all communications materials to strengthen BUV’s brand positioning in the market

– Manage relationships with external vendors and partners

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

Essential

– Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field

– Minimum 5 years of experience in communications or PR, including 2+ years in team management

– Excellent English proficiency in all aspects (speaking, writing, reading, listening)

– Strong leadership and team development skills

– Advanced project management and organizational abilities

– Proven experience in strategic communications planning and execution

– Deep understanding of various communications channels and best practices

Desirable

– Experience in internal communications within large organizations/FDI companies/international organizations

– Previous experience in education sector communications

– Knowledge of Vietnamese higher education landscape

– Experience with budget management and resource allocation

– Proficiency in communications measurement and analytics tools
