New displays of Contemporary Creative Practice students’ artworks are being showcased across the BUV campus, starting from April 2024.
Throughout this April, BUV presents four different captivating exhibitions, spotlighting the creative projects and artwork of excellent Contemporary Creative Practice students. The showcases promise a diverse array of creative endeavours, ranging from typographic explorations to international photography collaborations.
Showcase of New Creative Projects and Artwork
A diverse selection of artwork and projects created by Contemporary Creative Practice’s first and second-year students is now featured in the latest exhibition at BUV.
From captivating Video Journals to intricate Printmaking creations, our students have poured their creativity and passion into a wide range of projects and modules. These encompass disciplines such as “Study Skills for Creative Practitioners,” “Visual Studies,” “Practical Contemporary Art Practice (Photography & Printmaking),” and “Visual Communication.”
Artworks will be displayed across the BUV campus, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to witness the talent and creativity of Contemporary Creative Practice students.
Typographic Culture and Context
As a part of Level 5/Year 2’s curriculum – “Exploring Contemporary Art Practice”, the “Typographic Culture and Context” module tasks students with the challenge of crafting innovative typographic creations. These creations are intricately linked to their areas of expertise in graphic design, illustration, or photography.
In this dynamic assignment, students are proactive in exploring the intricate world of typography and its cultural relevance from a variety of angles, including design, illustration, photography, and visual research. Throughout the process, students polished their talents in a variety of media disciplines, including showreels, moving images, digital art, craftsmanship, digital media, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality.
The “Typographic Culture and Context” showcase of their innovative typographic creations is now being demonstrated at the Student Hub, F2 BUV Campus, Building B.
Collaboration with Staffordshire University for Photocitizens International Photography Award
BUV proudly presents our participation with Staffordshire University in the esteemed Photocitizens International Photography Festival. Launched in 2015, this global initiative links undergraduate and graduate photography students with galleries, international photography festivals, and art organizations across the globe.
Located at the Student Hub in Building B, the Photocitizens exhibition brings together exceptional photography work of talented photographers from international universities, reflecting diverse perspectives and cultural influences. The artworks are collages made up of multiple photographs that depict various nations such as Greece, England, Lebanon, etc. from different cultural viewpoints.
By participating in this international photography event, BUV expects to foster research, collaboration, and the showcase of future talents.
Design Research Posters
The exhibition of “Design Research Posters,” a culmination of the Practical Contemporary Practice in Graphic Design, Illustration, and Photography module at Level 6/Year 3, is now available at the Student Hub in Building B.
Students have meticulously crafted a series of A1 posters exploring a diverse range of design topics and problems. These research posters are accompanied by presentations of proposed projects in appropriate and professional design formats, in which students provide supporting evidence of visual investigation, research, planning, and evaluations, identifying potential risks, proposed strategies, personal strengths and weaknesses, and required resources.
Through rigorous research and visual investigation, students have formulated proposals for independent projects, providing insights into their creative processes and innovative design solutions.
Visitors are welcome to visit and experience the exhibitions on-site from April 2024. If you are studying or have the opportunity to visit BUV’s green campus, don’t miss the chance to explore the creative and unique artworks, which reflect the rigorous learning process and equally fascinating journey of BUV’s Contemporary Creative Practice students!
