British University Vietnam launches MOU Scholarship for 2022 intake 04:28:18

In the 2021-2022 academic year, British University Vietnam (BUV) implemented its MOU Scholarship for students of partner high schools to enable their access to excellent education of the United Kingdom via a VND 53 billion scholarship fund.

The development of close partnerships between BUV and high schools is one of many strategic steps to realize BUV’s educational mission: to provide high-quality British degrees and a world-class campus in Vietnam; and to create a new generation of discoverers, explorers and creative thinkers who are educated, trained and prepared to thrive in future (4IR) fields of work and life.

As part of the 2022 BUV Scholarship fund, the MOU Scholarship is developed by BUV to encourage senior students of the university’s partner high schools to seize opportunities for learning and access the excellent education of the United Kingdom (UK) right here in Vietnam.

To assist students with their applications, BUV will hold “UK Style Personal Statement” events in various high schools to exchange and share experiences with students regarding the application, resume preparation, and strategies to make an outstanding personal statement.

 The MOU Scholarship:

The MOU Scholarship ranges in value from 30% to 75% of the tuition fee and is applied to either of the 10 majors in BUV with degrees granted by Staffordshire University (UK) or BUV, including:

  • International Business Management
  • Marketing Management
  • Accounting and Finance
  • Finance and Economics
  • Event Management
  • Computer Games Design & Programming
  • Contemporary Creative Practice: Graphic Design/Illustration/Photography
  • Computer Science: Cyber Security/ Cloud Technologies
  • Tourism Management
  • International Hospitality Management

The Scholarship Panel will select brilliant applicants for interviews based on criteria of good academic performance, experience in participating in voluntary activities and community contributions, having in mind a suitable major, leadership skills, and their ability to contribute to the development of university Apart from the mentioned criteria, students also need a reference letter from their high school when they apply for the scholarship.

In addition to financial support, BUV students can access updated curricula and knowledge that are entirely taught by international lecturers in a truly UK education environment facilitated by modern educational technologies, as well as join a community of friendly, open-minded, and dynamic students. Furthermore, students will receive considerable assistance in their learning, mental support, and internship opportunities from BUV.

On the MOU Scholarship and his time studying at BUV, Luu Tien Anh, an alumnus of Nguyen Tat Thanh high school as well as the champion of the MOU Scholarship, shared: “The international environment at BUV exceeded my expectations: “All classes are taught by international lecturers and in English, making me feel like I’m studying abroad! Classes and practices are designed to encourage students to develop their ability to work independently, develop their problem-solving skills, and self-motivation skills. Words fail to describe my love for BUV.”

BUV scholarship fund was established to provide Vietnamese students with opportunities to participate in UK undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in an international education environment right here in Vietnam. In 2021, the scholarship fund has been raised to VND 53 billion, including valuable scholarships such as the British Ambassador’s Scholarship (100% of tuition fees), Lion’s Heart Scholarship for disadvantaged students, President’s Scholarship (75% of tuition fees), Dean’s Scholarship (50% of tuition fee), and especially, the MOU Scholarship for all-around students from partner high schools.
