British University Vietnam (BUV) has officially signed collaboration agreements with leading educational institutions in Laos, further strengthening its commitment to expanding high-quality, accredited British education across Southeast Asia. This initiative aligns with BUV’s long-term vision to be recognised as the leading international university in Vietnam and the surrounding regions.

BUV establishes partnerships with Panyathip British International School and the International School of Laos
BUV has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two of the leading educational institutions in Laos: Panyathip British International School, Vientiane (PBIS) and the International School of Laos (ISL). The signing ceremony was attended by Mr Nguyễn Thành Huy, Counsellor and Head of the Science & Technology, Education & Training, and Culture Department at the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos.

PBIS is one of the most reputable international schools in Laos, offering a British curriculum from early years to high school, with a strong emphasis on holistic student development. Meanwhile, ISL, established in 2006, is recognised for its multicultural learning environment and innovative academic programmes.
Through this collaboration, students from PBIS and ISL will have access to BUV’s Global Pathfinder Scholarship Programme, which provides a total scholarship fund of up to USD 1.2 million for the 2025 and 2026 academic years. This initiative offers talented students from Laos the opportunity to pursue a world-class education at BUV with greater financial accessibility.
The academic and cultural programme (Mobility Programme) will also enable PBIS and ISL students to experience high-quality UK education and visit BUV’s five-star campus in Vietnam. These initiatives are designed to equip students with academic excellence, essential soft skills, and a global mindset, preparing them to become future leaders in an interconnected world.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to delivering internationally accredited education while fostering academic and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Laos. By creating new pathways for students to access quality British education, BUV aims to enhance educational opportunities in the region and contribute to developing a dynamic academic community across Southeast Asia.
This initiative follows the successful collaboration between BUV and St Hugh’s College, Vientiane, established in May 2024 under the witness of the Lao Ambassador to Vietnam, Mrs. Khamphao Ernthavanh. As part of that agreement, BUV introduced a franchised Hospitality Management programme at St Hugh’s College alongside joint undergraduate training programmes.
By expanding its international partnerships, BUV continues to reaffirm its leading position in quality British higher education in Vietnam and the surrounding regions. BUV remains committed to providing an immersive, multicultural learning environment, fostering global academic mobility, and ensuring high-quality internships and career pathways for students.
