
Richard Paul Child
Raised and educated in the UK, in 1995, Richard completed a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from De Montfort University. In 1999, he graduated with a Master of Art in Visual Communication from The Birmingham Institute of Art & Design. After graduation, Richard worked in various freelance design roles across the Midlands and North-East England.
His academic career began in 2003, working firstly for Birmingham Metropolitan College as a Programme Leader (Graphic Design) and moving to Curriculum Director (Visual Art) in 2007.
In 2012, he moved to a trans-national education role with Winchester School of Art (University of Southampton) where he helped establish an international Art & Design campus in Dalian city (China).
In 2018, Richard joined BUV as Programme Leader for the new Contemporary Creative Practices programme.
