POSITION PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mathematics & Statistics Teacher to join our Pre-University Division at BUV. The successful candidate will teach across our International Foundation Programme (IFP) awarded by the University of London, preparing gifted students (aged 15+) for global undergraduate progression.

This full-time role includes some weekly travel to partner schools in neighbouring provinces, as part of our growing outreach programme.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Teaching Excellence: Plan and deliver high-quality, student-centred lessons in Mathematics and Statistics, aligned with the IFP syllabus and learning outcomes.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Develop appropriate formative and summative assessment methods, monitor student progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues in the School of Pathways to support continuous improvement and contribute to scheme of work planning.
  • Pastoral Support: Act as a positive role model, supporting students’ academic and emotional wellbeing.
  • Professionalism: Uphold the values of BUV and the University of London in all teaching, reporting, and student engagement practices.
  • Travel Commitment: Willingness to travel to a nearby province at least once per week to deliver outreach teaching in partner schools.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Native or near-native proficiency in English
  • A Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related field
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching in a UK or international curriculum (e.g. A-Level, IB, IGCSE, Foundation)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire students and promote independent learning

Desirable: 

  • Experience working in Vietnam or similar Southeast Asian education contexts
  • Familiarity with the University of London IFP or international foundation pathways
  • Experience working with high-achieving or gifted students
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and commitment to student welfare

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  • Contract Type: Full-time, fixed term (with renewal opportunities)
  • Hours: 15–20 contact hours per week, between Monday–Saturday (8:00am–6:00pm)
  • Class Size: 20–25 students
  • Location: Ecopark campus (primary base), with possible weekly travel (one day per week) to a neighbouring province
