BUV has partnered with Bournemouth University (BU) to introduce their renowned Tourism Management and Events Management degrees. This collaboration will enhance our curriculum and provide students with a unique opportunity to benefit from Bournemouth University’s expertise in these fields. The partnership will offer students a comprehensive education that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, preparing them for successful careers in the tourism and events industries. These programmes are part of BU’s internationally renowned Tourism, Hospitality & Events courses, ranked among the top 20 globally for Hospitality & Leisure Management in the QS World University Rankings 2024 and 2nd in the UK for Hospitality & Tourism Management in Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023. With over 30 years of teaching experience in this field, BU has been recognised as a Centre of Excellence for Tourism by the Institute of Travel and Tourism and is certified by the World Tourism Organization.  POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience in Programme Management would be highly desirable, with progression to the position of Programme Leader available for suitable candidates.

 (Essential)

  • PhD or Doctoral qualifications and master’s degree in a relevant discipline area from an internationally recognized institution.
  • University and undergraduate teaching experience in programs delivered entirely in English.
  • Higher education teaching qualification, recognition, or accreditation, or willingness to work towards this.
  • Sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge to develop teaching programmes and the provision of student learning support.
  • In-depth understanding of own specialism to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field.
  • Evidence of (CPD) and/or professional industrial membership.
  • Evidence of a positive impact at discipline programme level beyond own teaching.
  • Experience of teaching, curriculum development and quality assurance and enhancement in an HE environment.
  • Research experience.
  • Evidence of high-quality publications or other outputs in research or practice.
  • Knowledge of higher education and ability to use a range of up-to-date delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students.
  • Understanding equal opportunity issues as they may impact on academic content and issues relating to student needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Clean police record.

(Desirable)

  • Evidence of high-quality publications or other outputs in research or practice.
  • Experience of research and evidence of up-to-date research activity.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead research projects, win bids, and generate income.
  • Experience in academic management, with programme leadership experience of particular interest, especially for Senior Lecturer positions.
  • Evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review.
  • Experience of living and working in Vietnam or Asia.
