“The strategic partnership between BUV and UoL not only strengthens academic ties between the UK and Vietnam but also realises a shared vision in educating the future global leadership. BUV students are equipped with the specialised knowledge and essential skills needed to succeed in an increasingly globalised world,” remarked British Deputy Ambassador Marcus Winsley.
The Golden Key
At the beginning of July 2024, BUV and a high-level delegation from the University of London (UoL), London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) (UK), collaborated to organise a series of extensive seminars within a symposium held in Hanoi. The events have aimed to update cutting-edge trends and exchange multinational experiences to strengthen and enhance the teaching methods of universities aligned with global standards in general. Particularly, the programme has also focused on supplementing and improving the quality of the International Foundation Program (IFP) accredited by UoL – one of the top 10 universities in the UK, exclusively taught by BUV in Vietnam.
As part of the event series, UoL hosted a prestigious Quality Certification Award Ceremony for BUV’s accredited teaching centre, underscoring BUV’s pivotal position within UoL’s global partner network. The ceremony not only celebrated BUV’s exceptional training standards over the years but also highlighted its significant contributions to education. This memorable occasion unfolded at the Residence of the British Ambassador to Vietnam, witnessed by Mr. Marcus Winsley, Deputy British Ambassador to Vietnam.
Mr. Marcus Winsley underscored that education acts as the pivotal key to fostering sustainable cooperation between the UK and Vietnam. He highlighted how educational collaboration strengthens mutual understanding and bolsters bilateral relations, elevating Vietnam’s influence in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Emphasising this achievement, the Deputy Ambassador hailed BUV as a pioneering force in modern education, dedicated to upholding international standards for Vietnamese students. BUV has unlocked new avenues of opportunity and empowered young individuals to thrive in the dynamic realms of local and global education. Through steadfast commitment, BUV has cemented its crucial role in advancing educational standards in the region.
“BUV is widely acclaimed for delivering top-tier British education standards with a dedicated faculty. The strategic partnership between BUV and UoL not only enhances academic connections between the UK and Vietnam but also realises a shared vision in grooming future global leaders. BUV equips its students with the knowledge and skills essential for success in an increasingly interconnected world,” Mr. Marcus affirmed.
Education Shaping the Future
Addressing the event, Professor Raymond Gordon, President and Vice-Chancellor of BUV, described this symposium as the launchpad for future collaborations that will elevate the educational standards at UoL and BUV. A notable initiative involves substantial investment in BUV’s International Foundation Program (IFP).
“The programme’s vision goes beyond improving the education sector; it aims to ignite Vietnam’s comprehensive development. Witnessing the outstanding talent of our students firsthand, I’m confident that this generation will lead Vietnam’s economic growth through their resilience and knowledge,” Professor Raymond Gordon affirmed with enthusiasm.
Dr. Jill Stewart, representing UoL’s senior leadership, underscored the pivotal role of the strategic partnership with BUV for UoL and LSE. Recognising the immense potential early on, she highlighted BUV’s continuous enhancements in education quality across phases.
“Our collaborative programmes, notably IFP, showcase our shared values and commitment to enhancing academic excellence. More than just high-quality education, they cultivate an exciting global learning community for Vietnamese and regional students. We are confident in the future of BUV’s students and look forward to supporting them in shaping a prosperous Vietnam as exceptional, future-ready leaders,” Dr. Jill Stewart remarked with conviction.
BUV and UoL are spearheading a suite of high-calibre training programmes, featuring IFP and four undergraduate programmes in Business: Finance, Accounting and Finance, Business and Management, and Economics and Management. IFP at BUV has gained global recognition for ensuring that students meet high academic standards and develop essential skills to excel at top-tier universities worldwide.
In their collaborative approach to teaching, UoL and BUV meticulously oversee teaching quality, programme content, and a robust online library stocked with diverse reference materials. Enhanced by BUV’s luxurious state-of-the-art facilities, this promises students an immersive and authentic British educational journey.
Upon completing the IFP programme, students can progress to the School of Business (awarded by the University of London and delivered at BUV) or confidently select from a range of prestigious international undergraduate programmes in countries like Australia, Canada, the USA, etc.
