BUV Welcomes Students from British universities for a Culturally Immersive Summer

This June, BUV is delighted to welcome a group of 13 students from different British universities to join the exciting 2024 Cultural Immersion Programme. Organized annually by BUV’s International Office, this programme engages international students in diverse educational and cultural activities, creating memorable experiences in Vietnam.
On June 11, 2024, British University Vietnam (BUV) had the pleasure of welcoming international students from four prestigious universities in the United Kingdom: the University of Surrey, the University of Sussex, Arts University Bournemouth, and Glasgow Caledonian University. This marks the beginning of the 2024 Cultural Immersion Programme, a month-long series of events designed to foster cultural exchange, learning, and collaboration.

The Cultural Immersion Programme at BUV features a wide range of engaging activities both on and off campus, providing a platform for exciting academic exchange and cross-cultural dialogue. International students attending to this programme can explore Vietnamese culture through activities such as cooking classes, Vietnamese language class and so on. Additionally, students will participate in experiential learning excursions to some of Vietnam’s most well-known cultural landmarks. These excursions are aimed at offering students a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s history and cultural heritage.

Beyond the workshops and excursions, the programme also includes business fieldtrip, allowing students to gain valuable insights into Vietnam’s business landscape and industrial sectors. These visits are designed to enhance the academic learning with real-world experiences, providing a holistic view of the Vietnamese economy.
Within this Cultural Immersion Programme, international students have the opportunity to actively engage with BUV’s diverse clubs and participate in socially impactful activities such as charity trips to SOS Village Hai Phong, collecting trash in Ha Long Bay, etc. These experiences not only broaden their understanding of local challenges but also enable them to make tangible contributions towards sustainable development and social responsibility in Vietnam, deepen their cultural immersion and leave a positive impact on the communities they engage with.

This unique environment also fosters cross-cultural exchange, where local students at BUV have the opportunity to share and exhibit Vietnamese culture with their international peers. It’s a platform where diverse perspectives converge, thereby enriching the educational experience and fostering lasting global connections among students from different corners of the world.
