On 26 November, BUV Open Day – the biggest information event for high school students – made its return at the British University Vietnam (BUV), offering a plethora of information about new undergraduate programmes and scholarship opportunities for the year 2024.

Drawing in thousands of participants, including notable experts in education, human resources management, etc., the event provided high school students with a firsthand experience of university life. Attendees had the opportunity to experience a day in the life of university students through various experience classes, meet and interact with experts from various fields, learn about the scholarship application process, and immerse themselves in the vibrant student life at BUV.

In addition, at the event, students and parents gained valuable insights into the meticulous process of selecting the right university and career path for the future. Beyond considering career trends and market demands, navigating an uncertain world requires serious consideration of individual strengths and capabilities.

A day as a BUV student: enjoyment aplenty!

A highlight of BUV Open Day 2023 was the chance for “new students” to experience practical classes across various programmes such as Hotel Management, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Computer Games Design and Programming, Marketing Management, and more. This hands-on experience offered a glimpse into the content and teaching methodologies at the university level.

Noteworthy additions to BUV’s academic offerings include six new undergraduate programmes and a fresh major set to commence in the 2024-2025 academic year. Three of these programs – Business and Management, Economics and Management, and Accounting and Finance – are accredited by the University of London. Additionally, BUV introduced two enticing programs: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (accredited by the University of Stirling) and Games Art (accredited by Staffordshire University).

The Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme promises students exposure to cutting-edge technologies such as data science, advanced analytics, and deep learning. On the other hand, the Games Art programme equips students with fundamental knowledge and professional game development skills, enabling them to swiftly create engaging game prototypes.

Adding to the vibrancy of “a day in the life of a BUV student” was the interaction between high school students and representatives of BUV student clubs. With over 30 clubs covering diverse fields, from Data Science to Football, Volleyball, Fashion, and Cooking, these clubs serve as hubs for students to expand their networks, develop personally, showcase their personalities, and create enduring college memories.

The event also featured discussions with experts in the field. Content creator JVevermind and Uy Lê, Co-founder and Creative Director of Saigon Tếu, shared insights into preparing for and seizing opportunities during the initial university period. In contrast, discussions with Ms. Ngô Thị Ngọc Lan, Northern Region Director at Navigos Search, and Mr. Nguyễn Thạc Thắng, Founder and CEO of Aloha Consulting Group, provided valuable information for parents accompanying their children on the career path.
