British University Vietnam (BUV) held an MOU Signing Ceremony with Hanoi University of Home Affairs (Vietnam)

On 28th January 2021, British University Vietnam (BUV) held a meeting and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hanoi University of Home Affairs (HUHA). The two parties discussed common goals and activities that have been carried out locally to enhance the quality of foreign language teaching and learning, as well as establishing new partnership strategies to be implemented in the near future. The ceremony held was witnessed by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.
The signing ceremony was carried out with the attendance of Assoc. Professor Trieu Van Cuong – Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Assoc. Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien – Rector of Hanoi University of Home Affairs (HUHA), Professor Dr. Raymond Gordon – President of British University Vietnam (BUV), together with representatives of the Department of International Cooperation and lecturers of BUV.
Hanoi University of Home Affairs (HUHA) is a public higher education institution, under the management of Ministry of Home Affairs, with the function of training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, doing research, international cooperation and providing public services for Home Affairs fields as well as social requirements.
The signing ceremony of an MOU between HUHA and BUV was executed with a goal of promoting the strategic cooperation in education, training, and research to provide mutual benefits to both universities.
Based on the mutual interest of the two parties, HUHA and BUV will strengthen cooperation activities to establish exchange of joint training and develop high quality training programmes for Undergraduate and Postgraduate education. In addition, in the coming time, both universities will launch a number of exchange programmes for teachers and students to enhance their foreign language and professional skills.
For the training of teachers, the two sides agree to coordinate in training and retraining programmes to improve competency, language proficiency and to issue foreign language certificates to meet the requirements of the civil service and society. Alongside this, other educational, academic exchanges, training, and research activities will be organized under the approval of both universities.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Assoc. Professor Trieu Van Cuong highly appreciated the cooperation between HUHA and BUV, and emphasized that the international cooperation model is a good solution for the purpose of exchange and learning, hence improving the quality of pedagogy for the lecturers and students of HUHA, amid the serious context of the Covid-19 in other countries, which has lead to challenges for students and lecturers in participating international exchange programmes.
At the signing ceremony, Assoc. Professor Nguyen Ba Chien – Rector of HUHA stated he believes that with a modern and international standard learning environment like BUV, the partnership between the two universities will bring many exciting experiences and valuable opportunities in the future.
The Memorandum of Understanding to promote friendship and cooperation between HUHA and BUV is a landmark in BUV’s strategic mission in education, training and research in 2021. “BUV recognises the importance of developing cooperation between the two universities, especially in supporting the provision of English training programs to lecturers and students of HUHA. This is our pride to contribute to the society and the development of Vietnam.”, Professor Dr. Ray Gordon stated at the event.
During the visit to British University Vietnam, Assoc. Professor Trieu Van Cuong and Assoc. Professor Nguyen Ba Chien visited BUV’s world-class campus and facilities. The iconic campus of BUV started operation in 2018, providing an international-standard facility that is indicative of 4IR and making the most of the surrounding green space.
